100 pipers: Limited Edition: Packaging revamp

100 Pipers is a blended Scotch whisky brand produced by Pernod Ricard India, featuring a mix of 25–30 whiskies sourced from Scotland. Bottled and marketed in India, it is also distributed across Thailand, other Asian countries, and South America. Recognized as the No. 2 standard whisky in Asia and the No. 1 in Thailand, the brand draws its name and Celtic imagery from the Scottish tradition of bagpipers leading soldiers into battle, inspired by the ballad The Hundred Pipers celebrating Bonnie Prince Charlie’s 1745 Jacobite uprising.

SITUATION

100 Pipers, a leading blended Scotch whisky brand from Pernod Ricard, wanted to create a limited-edition packaging design that paid tribute to its Scottish origins. The goal was to celebrate Speyside’s landscapes, heritage, and culture while appealing to modern consumers across India, Asia, and South America.

TASK

Develop a packaging concept that blended heritage elements (illustration, culture, typography) with contemporary visual cues, narrating the story of 100 Pipers’ origins and the art of whisky blending.

Packaging Visual Language

ACTION

Led the creative process by visualizing the journey of blending and brewing Scotch. Directed and benchmarked the illustration style, guided the team in juxtaposing heritage motifs with modern design language, and ensured that the final designs were visually compelling, true to brand values, and culturally evocative.

PACKAGING ILLUSTRATION

The packaging was designed as a continuous wraparound illustration, turning the shelf display into a storytelling canvas. When three packs were stacked together, the graphics aligned seamlessly to reveal the full landscape and heritage-inspired artwork. This approach enhanced shelf appeal, created a sense of discovery, and encouraged consumer engagement by making the packaging visually irresistible.
